The good:
hooouuussseeee!!!! It still feels like a very large, very expensive apartment. When some guy running for mayor came to the door today, I half expected it to be the landlord.
Friends everywhere, so we got *everything* into the house in one day. Amazing.
Kitchen is almost done (if only I could find the box with the cooking utensils in them).
Our Wiccan electrician is neat. :) He said we were the first pagan / wiccan clients that he's had (and put his pentacle back on). It was just a little surreal.
Internet service.

The bad:
carpenter ants (ant traps placed, which hopefully will let me put off calling an exterminator for a week or so)
sick trees - if I get this sad because one of the trees looks quite ill (spots all over the leaves), then I'm definitely not ready for a pet. I will find / call a tree service tomorrow.
Disappearing forks - we only have about two of them, although we have what must be six trillion spoons. I'm still trying to find out if we can buy forks without buying anything else.
Continuing money suckage (although expected) - first the electrician, soon the furnace and roof and everything else, plus way too many trips to Lowes and Target (now and in the future).

We're slowly purging the house of everything that massively annoys us, like the huge hole that someone smacked in the wall when pulling cable upstairs (why??). If we ever finish, we can move on to removing the merely tacky bits.
