ruffles, ruffles, everywhere!
Sep. 27th, 2002 12:10 amTons and tons of thanks to
tpau for spending her evening helping me to make the pinafore over-dress that I'm going to use in the LARP on Sunday, and to
arawen for showing me how to use the iron (yes, I've only ironed about once or twice before - my family doesn't iron).
I still have to sew on the pockets and a placket, but it's almost done, and I'm really happy with it - it's so cute! :)
Okay, starting to get silly, so time to go to sleep...

Date: 2002-09-27 07:53 am (UTC)Life's just too short to iron... if you hang your clothes up soon after they come out of the dryer gravity does it for you. :)
Re: Ironing
Date: 2002-09-27 08:00 am (UTC)-when i was 9, i joined the Young Pioneers. we had these red silk skarf things. they needed to be irones every morning, as they wer esupposed to be tied itno a knot aroudn yoru neck. you ahve no idea how many i burned by leavign the iron on them. they were actually 100% nilon you see.
-when i got to the SCA and started sewing, i realzed thati probably shoudl actually own an iron :)
-onc ei owned my very own iron, i noticed how good it is to iron your seams flat :) and now i don't think i have ever had a sewing project where i had nt needed an iron :)
