good talk and I love my car
Sep. 12th, 2002 07:39 pmJust some random things that happened today that I wanted to journal.
This afternoon at work we had a big party to celebrate the release of the new version of our product (well, released to Support at least - it goes GA in about a week). I ran into uDon there (as
rigel calls him,I think), and we had a really nice talk about gaming, upcoming games, Tivo, his roommate Bob, a neat store in Worcester called Spags (sp? I'd never heard of it before) and other random subjects. uDon and
fireflydream also reconciled after the not-so-ideal ending of the last run of TMA, when
fireflydream got a little upset the outcome of some things she did in game. It wasn't really a reconciliation, per se - it basically consisted of one of them saying "I thought you hated me!" and the other saying "I thought you were mad at us!" and everything was fine. :) (It wasn't really serious - I just like to over-dramatize things sometimes). uDon also got me to try something called a hard cola, which was very odd in a way I can't really describe. I didn't really like it very much, but then, I'm pretty picky about alcoholic beverages.
That was pretty much the end of my day. However, on the way home, I was suddenly struck by how much I love my car, and so I will share.
Indrani is a silver 2000 Toyota Echo, who I nicknamed after my RAW character's silver faerie dragon (they're both small, silver, don't need much to eat, and have amazingly high dex stats). I guess if you think of all modern transportation vehicles as dragons, and then compare my car to an airplane or space shuttle, then the size difference works pretty well. Besides, this Indrani must be a fairly mature faerie dragon, because I haven't noticed him growing at all over the past two years - he started out being able to carry four adults comfortable, but I doubt he'll ever reach being able to carry five.
I love my car - it's cute and comfortable and lets me see the road and gets great gas mileage and has some sort of special space-bending properties because I swear that it has more interior space than it should from its outside dimensions. However, I think that's enough fawning over my car for one journal entry - off to get dinner I am.
