my little bootcamp

In the spirit of the way I do things (that is, not with any semblance of consistency and then all at once for as long as it takes to get it done), I have started myself on a program I'm calling "6 for 6", or "36 in 6" (or both). My plan is to go to the gym six times a week for the next six weeks, or 36 visits in the next six weeks. Why six weeks? Because that will be about the time I have to start packing up clothing, so it's the best time to try everything on and figure out what I don't want to take with me. I have a lot of clothing I don't wear, and if I'm never going to wear something, then I shouldn't drag it along to the new place.
I used to think that exercise made me eat less, but I must be pummelling my body pretty hard, because I've been ravenous for the past couple of days. Since I've also been tired and stressed over housing (new bathroom + no permit = possible bad thing - will write more when I know more :( ), this means I've been eating way too much junk food. If I can't find the time to cook something, I should at least buy myself healthy pre-made stuff to eat. Or eat fruit - most types of fruit seem to be in season right now.
Must get house inspected by actual inspector. Must get contract signed. Maybe then I can get some useful sleep before 6am in the morning. Fitful dreams do not help at all (Belated point to
kviri - you were right after all about my dreams being senseless; I should have given you that card in the game. :) Or else you cursed me by accident. [g]). What does it mean when the main thing I remember is my friend G from college walking towards me, giving me a hug, and then walking away (no backdrop or anything)? Maybe I should try to figure out where he is and that he's okay. Maybe I should do a better job of keeping in touch with a lot of people. [sigh]
Maybe I should stop going off on tangents for once. [g]
36 - stretched; 30+ minutes on elliptical machine (hill setting - ouch)
35 - ran 1/2 mile warmup; stretched; Xpressline weights; extra leg weights; ab series.
[day off - everything hurt way too much]
34 - stretched; 21 minutes on elliptical machine (random setting - limited time because had to leave for NH)
33 - ran 1/2 mile warmup in about 4:15; stretched; Xpressline weights; extra leg weights; ab series. Now that I've lost some weight and am a little stronger, I actually leg press my body weight. I'm not sure if it means anything, but it seemed kinda neat earlier. :)

Date: 2003-07-08 07:44 am (UTC)Whenever I can. [g] I prefer to go after work because by the time I get myself out of the house most days, I don't have time to go to the gym first (if I didn't have to be at work, I wouldn't mind going in the morning - I did that on Sunday, and it confused me a bit later in the day, when I starting thinking that I still needed to go to the gym and had to remind myself that I'd already been there). During the week, I have to go to the gym on the way to or from work or I won't make it at all. On the weekend, I usually go in the morning sometime, because the longer I wait, the less likely I'll go.
I'd like to go as a break at work, but I think it would be hard to fit a cardio workout into an hour (10 minutes of stretching, 30 minutes of cardio, random driving and changing time, and I really should take a shower before going back to work, so that's another 15-20 minutes). I probably could take a little extra time at lunch and just stay later to compensate. I could probably do weights over lunch, because I don't get that sweaty, but I like to warmup first, which is sweat-inducing, so it'd probably end up taking about the same amount of time.
What time are those things happening?
Inspection is tomorrow morning at 9am. P&S theoretically is tomorrow sometime after the inspection / before 10pm, but that could change depending on the status of the uninspected and possibly not to code upstairs bathroom (one piece isn't to code and needs to be fixed, but the rest seems okay, so it might just be a matter of having the sellers pull a belated permit for it, not sure yet).
}Maybe then I can get some useful sleep before 6am in the morning.

Thanks...*hug* I'm trying very hard not to whine about any of this (must stay calm), because it'll hopefully all be over soon and I brought it upon myself and everything. :)
