Just finished watching Priscilla: Queen of the Desert, aka "Elrond's Other Life". I now have mental pictures of Elrond (or Agent Smith) in the middle of a serious meeting suddenly breaking out into a drag lip-synching performance. Aghh! :) The movie has an excellent soundtrack and great Australian accents, at least.

This weekend was busy but filled with productivity and Asian shopping goodness. Saturday, I drove a friend to the airport and helped move [livejournal.com profile] laurion's large items to his new place and some of my own stuff to the storage unit, including the washer and dryer. In order to remove the washer from the wall, I had to make the first of what I'm sure will be many Home Depot runs - I was very happy that they had an actual plumber working there, because I think I spent at least 10 minutes staring forlornly at the wall of wrenches and pliers.

I also finished watching Cowboy Bebop (excellent anime) and convinced [livejournal.com profile] arawen to go to Super 88 with me (yay!). They didn't have any pineapple buns left (boo!), but we went to the food court and got some cold noodles and curry rice at Ajisen for dinner (yay!). Super 88 has some beautiful ceramic dishes that I completely missed the last time I was there. We also bought some moon cakes, as they had a huge display of them and the box holding the ones we bought was very neat - I had to research the Chinese Moon Festival to figure out exactly what we were going to be eating and why.

The food court restaurants at Super 88 are open until midnight, and there's another restaurant nearby that's open until 3am - not that I tend to go out late spontaneously anymore :( , but it's good to know that there are places out there open after 10pm (besides Chinatown / Theater District / Marche).

Sunday, I started working on merging the lists of books to sell together (I had started in textpad, then realized how foolish that was and continued in Excel), then decided to go back to Super 88 in hopes of finding pineapple buns (they seem to sell out by 2pm or so). This time I was successful, and as I am weak, I also ended up buying a number of other bun-type items and some roasted meat in the food court (turned out okay because it meant we had food for dinner). The rest of the day was taken up by finishing entering all the books to sell into the list and finally posting them to Craigslist, dragging [livejournal.com profile] arawen to Sasuga for used cds (only got one) and Kotobukiya for all sorts of items (we resisted getting Giant Pocky, though :) ), and obsessing over the gymnastics world championship prelims. We've now found three places where we might want to buy dishes after we move (Super 88, Kotobukiya, or the little shop in the Porter Exchange with all sorts of neat stuff), which is both good because of having more choices, and bad, because of having more choices. :)

The area of Cambridge near Porter is gorgeous. Every house there probably is worth around a million dollars or more (of course - it's Cambridge).

On Friday, I also finalized our new homeowners + auto insurance, paid my phone bill, paid the last cable bill / arranged for it to be disconnected, paid a credit card bill, extended our mortgage lock, called our buyer's agent to remind him that we'd really like to close by Sept 2 if at all possible (better mortgage rate)...I think there was something else, but that's all I can think of right now. Productivity good, but there are always more things that need to be done! *sigh*

Gosh.

Tokai. Near Kotobukiya, and purveyor of many Japanese items of ultimate crack. *drool*

And they have tarepanda among other things.

*snrk* This is *NOT* the image I needed right now.

Giant pocky isnt' worth it. Too much cookie, not enough sugar. ;)

*off to snicker quietly in a corner now*

No one told me anything about _giant_ pocky. Should we call it inferiority complex pocky?
